Israeli Strikes in Yemen Kill 46, Injure 165

The death toll in Yemen from Israeli military strikes has risen to 46, with another 165 people injured. The attacks, carried out on Wednesday in the capital Sana’a and the northern Al-Jawf province, are seen as the latest in the series of retaliatory Israel-Houthi strikes triggered by the Gaza conflict.

Yemen’s Ministry of Health has warned that casualties may rise further. Emergency services are working to rescue missing individuals trapped under the rubble. Reports indicate that residential areas and health centers were targeted, and efforts are ongoing to extract survivors from the destroyed buildings.

Earlier, on August 30, an Israeli attack in Sana’a killed Yemen’s Prime Minister along with several ministers, marking the first time senior government officials were directly targeted.

The Israeli military stated that the recent strikes were a response to Houthi drone attacks and surface-to-surface missile launches. According to the statement, the operation aimed to counter Houthi activities against the State of Israel.
