Foreign Friends’ Interest Grows in China’s Development and Culture

China extends a warm welcome to foreign friends visiting the country to experience traditional Spring Festival celebrations. On Friday, February 6, during a regular press briefing in Beijing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lin Qian emphasized this growing enthusiasm among international visitors.

Journalists noted that videos showcasing “Chinese-style lifestyle” have recently gone viral across global social media platforms. The online series “Becoming Chinese” has become a trending topic. During his recent visit to China, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer told foreign journalists that life in China is safe, convenient, and highly suitable for living.

Spokesperson Lin Qian highlighted that more foreign friends are eager and now have the opportunity to experience China’s rapid development and transformations, a trend he finds very encouraging. For many visitors, experiencing China is no longer limited to iconic elements like the Great Wall, Chinese kung fu, pandas, or traditional cuisine. Today, foreigners can enjoy a full range of conveniences via just a mobile phone, explore China’s high-speed rail network, advanced 5G infrastructure, and experience rich cultural and high-tech attractions. This has led to a significant rise in interest and appreciation for China among people worldwide.

According to statistics, in 2025, foreign arrivals and departures in China exceeded 82 million, a 26.4% increase compared to the previous year. Visa-free policies have further boosted foreign travel, with a rise of nearly 50% in related movements.

The Spring Festival is a pinnacle of Chinese culture, with the upcoming Year of the Horse adding to the festive spirit. In fact, over the past two weeks, foreign flight bookings to China have increased by 400% compared to the same period last year. China warmly welcomes foreign friends to celebrate the Spring Festival, experience heartfelt hospitality, friendship, and joy, and immerse themselves in the vibrant life of the country.
