The 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day were celebrated with due dignity and various programs at the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the morning, the ambassador hoisted the national flag along with the national anthem at the embassy premises. Mohammad Javed Patwari BPM (Bar). The Ambassador then paid floral tributes to the portrait of the Father of the Nation installed at the Embassy. Embassy officials and employees were present. Apart from this, various organizations and institutions of the Bangladesh community in Riyadh paid tribute to the portrait of the Father of the Nation with flowers.
On this occasion, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwari said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was brave, fearless, compassionate and uncompromising in his pursuit of rights. From the language movement to our great liberation war, he led every freedom movement in the country. Under his unforgettable leadership in 1971, we got an independent state called Bangladesh through a long nine-month armed struggle.
Ambassador Mohammad Javed Patwari said, after the independence of the country, Bangabandhu during his three-and-a-half-year rule faced various challenges and made the war-torn Bangladesh a people-friendly and balanced country. Bangabandhu’s whole life’s dream was to build a golden Bangladesh of dreams free from hunger and poverty. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working tirelessly to make Bangladesh a high-income Smart Bangladesh by 2041 to realize Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla.
Ambassador Mohammad Javed Patwari said that Bangabandhu’s ideals and spirit should be spread among the new generation growing up in the diaspora so that children can learn from Bangabandhu’s life and be inspired by patriotism. He called on everyone to work from their respective positions to build Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla.
The students studying at the Bangladesh International School in Riyadh gave a speech highlighting the life and ideals of the father of the nation in the program moderated by the counselor of the embassy Md. Belal Hossain. The officials of the embassy read the messages of the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister given on the occasion of the day.
On the occasion of the day, a documentary on the life and work of Bangabandhu was exhibited.
On the occasion of National Children’s Day, prizes were distributed among the winners of the essay and quiz competition organized on Bangabandhu and the Liberation War among the students studying at Bangladesh International School located in Riyadh.
At the end of the discussion program, special prayers were offered for the martyred members of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family. Besides, prayers are also prayed for the progress of the country and the nation.
