China has expressed strong concern over the sudden military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran. Beijing warned that a renewed outbreak of conflict in the Middle East would benefit no party and urged an immediate halt to military operations to prevent further destabilization.
Speaking at an emergency session of the UN Security Council on Saturday, China’s Permanent Representative Fu Cong delivered a clear message:
dialogue—not warfare—is the only viable path to resolving the ongoing crisis.
Fu underscored that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Iran and other Middle Eastern countries must be respected without exception.
He stressed that the use of force is not a legitimate or effective means of addressing international disputes—rather, it widens mistrust, fuels hostility, and intensifies conflict.
“Only through dialogue and diplomatic engagement can durable solutions be achieved,” he stated.
The emergency meeting followed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement earlier on Saturday of the launch of a “major combat operation” in Iran. Analysts warn that the joint U.S.–Israeli offensive risks pushing the already fragile Middle East into a new and dangerous phase of confrontation.
