Cuba Declares International Emergency Following U.S. Tariff Threats

In response to new tariff threats from the U.S. administration, Cuba has declared an international state of emergency. The announcement was made on Friday via a social media post by the country’s Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, who described the ongoing situation as an “abnormal and dangerous” threat to both the nation and the international community.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that the repercussions of these threats extend beyond Cuba’s national security, posing risks to global peace and stability, and endangering humanity’s survival in the face of nuclear risks and climate crises.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had signed an executive order warning that countries supplying fuel to Cuba could face additional tariffs on imports to the United States. The following day, China rejected the directive, emphasizing trade expansion and the maintenance of bilateral relations.

Analysts suggest that the escalating tensions between the two countries could have long-term implications for international trade and political stability.
