Consulate General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong observed the Language Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day 2023

With great enthusiasm and festivity, the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong observed the Language Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day on 21 February 2023 at the Consulate premise. After reading out the messages of the dignitaries, a short video documentary and the song of Ekushe February in different languages touched upon the guests. Consul General Ms. Israt Ara delivered her welcoming speech highlighting the significance of the Day. It may be mentioned that nine Consuls General from the Consulate General of Belgium, Brunei, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Nepal, and Venezuela, and the Deputy CG of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong graced the occasion for the first time. Besides, the Chief Manager (Film & Cultural Exchange) of the Leisure & Cultural Services Dept, Sr. Curriculum Development Officer of the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Government, a well-known Hong Kong writer, and a prominent journalist from the China Daily were present in the event. Distinguished Bangladeshi expatriates living in Hong Kong also spontaneously participated in the event. The guests also joined the Prabhat Feri & laid a floral wreath at the Shaheed Minar replica, followed by a cultural program. The audience highly appreciated the event and showed interest in engaging them in the future.
