A grand ceremony was held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing on Wednesday morning to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
As the official broadcaster, CMG’s live coverage team delivered a breathtaking audiovisual feast for global audiences. The program was meticulously prepared and beautifully executed, showcasing an exceptional blend of artistry and precision.
The live broadcast featured visually striking angles—close-up frontal shots of the parade, low-angle perspectives of armored vehicle formations, and sweeping aerial views of fighter jets—vividly demonstrating the high morale and formidable strength of the People’s Liberation Army.
More than 3,000 CMG professionals worked on the live broadcast, providing translation support, overseeing cultural performances, and managing real-time commentary. For the first time on such a large scale, a master director system with seven subsystems, over 170 live camera positions, and a domestically developed 8K ultra-high-definition broadcast system were deployed. During more than six months of preparation, CMG’s live broadcast team continuously refined workflows and optimized camera positions to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated production. Through countless on-site adjustments and rehearsals, they finalized a broadcast script containing over 850 camera shots—laying the foundation for a flawless live presentation that highlighted both the brilliance of the commemoration and the professionalism of CMG’s team.
For this ceremony, CMG employed unprecedented innovative camera angles and specialized equipment. Three aerial cable cars were installed at Tiananmen Square for the first time, capturing its majestic grandeur. Telescopic booms, lifting towers, remote-controlled vehicles, and other specialized tools enabled cameras to approach formations at astonishingly close range, creating an immersive visual experience for viewers worldwide.
In addition, CMG harnessed its multi-platform broadcasting capabilities to deliver the event in 85 languages, further showcasing China’s image and providing in-depth interpretation of its principles to a global audience.
