CMG Spring Festival Gala Promo Video Released in Johannesburg

The third full rehearsal of the China Media Group (CMG) Spring Festival Gala 2026 has been successfully completed. Shortly afterwards, CMG released the gala’s official promotional video and a series of creative cultural products in Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa. This has allowed the local overseas Chinese community as well as South African audiences to experience the warm Spring Festival greetings sent from China.

Johannesburg is home to more than 300,000 overseas Chinese. Following the announcement of the promo video release, many flocked to view it. Viewers shared that watching content related to the Spring Festival while living abroad gave them a deep sense of connection with their homeland, allowing them to appreciate the true spirit of the festival more profoundly.

South African MP Silis Mengya, who previously attended a CMG Spring Festival Gala event in Johannesburg, fondly recalled the experience. He described the CMG gala as “a grand cultural feast” that showcases Chinese spirit and presents an authentic image of China to the world.

As China ushers in the Year of the Horse, this year’s Spring Festival Gala embodies the themes of progress and forward momentum—hallmarks of the vitality and upward spirit of the Chinese nation. Broadcast globally, this cultural event not only allows millions to share in the joy of family reunion but also serves as an important bridge fostering mutual learning among civilizations and deeper connections among people across the world.
