At a press briefing held in Beijing on December 26, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that “Chinese innovation” has become one of the most talked-about global buzzwords in 2025.
He noted that China now ranks among the top ten countries in the Global Innovation Index. This growing innovative capacity, he said, is not only ensuring the steady growth of China’s economy but is also contributing to the recovery of the global economy and improving livelihoods in many countries.
The spokesperson added that China’s advanced technologies and methodologies in high-speed railway construction and smart port development are playing a significant role in infrastructure development worldwide. China’s independently developed BeiDou Navigation Satellite System is currently providing services to more than 140 countries and regions, offering vital support in areas such as disaster forecasting and emergency response.
In addition, Lin Jian highlighted that a China–Brazil joint innovation center has made it possible to expand the use of environmentally friendly energy even in remote areas. China is also engaged in desertification control technology exchanges with countries including Mongolia and Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, China’s smart agriculture technologies are helping Egypt address water resource challenges and strengthen food security, further demonstrating China’s growing contribution to sustainable development across different regions.
