Budapest hosted a China-Hungary cultural exchange event titled “Facing the Future, Sharing Common Well-being” last Friday. The program was jointly organized by China Media Group (CMG), the Hungarian Media Services and Support Trust Fund, and the Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association. CMG President Shen Haixiong joined the event via video address.
The gathering was attended by China’s Ambassador to Hungary, Gong Tao; Deputy State Secretary of Hungary’s Ministry of Culture and Innovation, Szabó Gábor; Vice CEO of the Hungarian Media Services and Support Trust Fund, Pető Zoltán; President of the Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association, Nagy Judit; and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Verga Tamás. More than a hundred guests from various fields, including architecture, culture, and media, also participated.
In his speech, Shen Haixiong noted that under the strategic guidance of the two countries’ leaders, China-Hungary relations have maintained high-quality development in recent years. He emphasized that cultural exchanges are flourishing and bilateral ties are moving forward steadily. “CMG has always been committed to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of our two countries. We are ready to work hand in hand with our Hungarian friends to contribute to building a community of shared future for humanity,” Shen said.
Ambassador Gong Tao highlighted the significance of broadcasting the documentary “Hudec” in Hungary, describing it as not only a success of cultural exchange but also a testament to media cooperation between the two nations. He added that the film has become a bridge for strengthening mutual understanding and deepening friendship between the peoples of China and Hungary.
