China Bangladesh Friendship Center-CBFC Iftar Meet for Hong Kong Members Organized

China-Bangladesh Friendship Center-CBFC organized an Iftar mahfil and dinner in collaboration with Bangladeshi Students’ Association in Hong Kong at the ‘Blue Ocean Restaurant’ in Kowloon, Hong Kong, on Thursday evening local time, April 20, 2023.

CBFC’s Junior Member Forum General Secretary Master Tazimul Islam conducted the program, and CBFC’s Honorary Chairperson, Mr. Chowdhury Mehmudur Rehman, presided over the event. The Consul of Bangladesh Consulate General Hong Kong, Mr. Zahidur Rahman, was the chief guest at the event. Local City Councilor Mr. Benny Yeung, Vice Chair of DAB Ethnic Minority Committee Mr. Jason Chong, and International Islamic Society President Mr. Bajlul Quader Helal were special guests.

Mr. Mohammed Rabiul Islam, president of the Bangladeshi Students’ Association in Hong Kong, and the general secretary of China Bangladesh Friendship Center (CBFC), Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu, gave a welcome speech at the event and introduced the guests. In his speech, the chief guest of the function, Mr. Zahidur Rahman, Consul of Bangladesh Consulate General Hong Kong, praised CBFC for developing Bangladesh China friendship and recalled the various activities of the Bangladeshi Students’ Association in Hong Kong.

General Secretary of China Bangladesh Friendship Center (CBFC), Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu, in his speech, thanked everyone for attending the event and making the event a success and expressed special gratitude to all Bangladeshi members Students’ Association in Hong Kong. Special Guest DAB Ethnic Minority Committee Vice Chair Mr. Jason Chong’s speech said, ‘Iftar Mahfil organized by CBFC is proof of intense and deep friendship between China and Bangladesh. The event will be a strong example of celebrating friendship and unity between China and Bangladesh.

Mufti Dr. Nahvi Azhari conducted the Islamic discussion and prayer in the last part of the meeting. At the end of the iftar, about 150 guests, including leaders of the Bangladesh Association of Hong Kong, Bangladesh Awami League Hong Kong, BNP Hong Kong, representatives of various socio-cultural organizations, including the Indian Club, Pakistan Club, Nepal Federation, Rotary Club and a significant number of members of Bangladeshi Students’ Association in Hong Kong had dinner together.

CBFC, a non-profit and non-political organization that promotes mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation between China and Bangladesh, actively promotes bilateral relations between the two countries. Iftar mahfils and such get-togethers are among the many initiatives undertaken by the CBFC to strengthen the bond of friendship and cultural exchange between China and Bangladesh.
