China-Bangladesh Friendship Center-CBFC Distributes Relief Aid to Flood Victim


Cumilla, Bangladesh—The China-Bangladesh Friendship Center (CBFC) has successfully conducted a relief distribution initiative from August 24 to 26, 2024, to support families affected by the devastating floods. The event took place in Patanandi, Bhaskara, Dalba, and Debipur villages in the Chauddagram region, reaching approximately 600 needy families.

In the face of one of the most severe floods in recent history, the China-Bangladesh Friendship Center stepped forward to provide essential aid. Under the leadership of General Secretary Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu, the Social Welfare Secretary, Mr. Shariful Islam, and the Organizational Secretary, S.M.F. Munim, have coordinated the relief efforts. Tahrima Islam, Assistant Secretary for Press and Media, led the event’s organization.

The relief distribution included food items and clothing, demonstrating the Center’s commitment to humanitarian support. The initiative was made even more impactful through the voluntary efforts of Saiful Islam Sagar, founding General Secretary and current Ekotai Shakti Social Welfare Organization advisor.

Looking ahead, the China-Bangladesh Friendship Center plans to extend its support further by providing food supplies for an additional 1,600 families and clothing for 10,000 individuals.

“We are dedicated to standing by Bangladesh during this challenging time,” stated Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu. “Through our efforts, we aim to address the immediate needs of those affected and strengthen the bonds of friendship between Bangladesh and China.”

The China-Bangladesh Friendship Center will continue to monitor the situation and respond accordingly, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian assistance and community support.
