Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Reinforces Policy Implementation in Hong Kong

On Tuesday, 10 February, the Information Office of China’s State Council released a white paper on national security exercises in Hong Kong under the framework of “One Country, Two Systems.”

The white paper emphasizes that, in the new era, the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, led by Xi Jinping, is firmly implementing the “One Country, Two Systems” principle. The policy’s core objective is to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and developmental interests. In response to Hong Kong’s past instability, the Chinese government follows a holistic national security approach. According to the Basic Law and the Constitution, China exercises comprehensive administration over the Special Administrative Region and enacts and enforces laws to maintain national security in Hong Kong.

The document further notes that the world is undergoing deep and complex changes, and safeguarding national security is an ongoing process with no endpoint. Through high-level security measures, Hong Kong is expected to achieve long-term stability and prosperity, fully leverage the advantages of “One Country, Two Systems,” and integrate more effectively with China’s overall development.
