CBFC Elects new executive committee for 2025–2027; Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu elected President; Mohammad Kamrul Hasan and Mr. Zhong Yanmeng (Jason Zhong) Honorary Presidents; and Ms. Chen Qiuhua (Roseanne) General Secretary

CBFC’s Sixth Annual General Meeting, held online via Zoom, opened under the chair of the then–President Mr. Peter, who formally dissolved the previous Executive Committee and constituted a three‑member convening committee led by former Senior Vice President Mr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, with former President Mr. Peter and former General Secretary Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu as members. Mr. Kamrul Hasan then presided over the election proceedings, where positions were filled through proposals and support from the members. The house elected the new Executive Committee for 2025–2027 as follows: President Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu; Honorary Presidents Mr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan and Mr. Zhong Yanmeng (Jason Zhong); General Secretary Ms. Chen Qiuhua (Roseanne); Joint Secretaries Ms. Nipa Das and Mr. Ashiqur Rahman Sarker; Vice Presidents Mr. Fung Chi Nok (Lenny), Engr. Jahan Md Shah, Dr. MNH Munim, and Mr. Mohammed Iqbal Bahar, Organizing Secretary Shariful Islam; Finance Secretary Mr. Shaik Niaz Hossain; Secretary for Trade, Commerce and Industry Affairs Mr. Shamsul Arefeen Shohel; International Affairs Secretary Mr. Golam Rabbani Raza; Women Affairs Secretary Ms. Syeda Saika Rosy; Education and Training Secretary M.G. Shams Khan; Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Mr. Saddam Hossain Rony; Cultural Secretary Mr. Sheikh Ali Ashraf Faruk; Press and Publicity Secretary Ms. Tahrima Islam; ICT Affairs Secretary Mr. Sudipto Roy Akash; and Youth Affairs Secretary Mr. Mohammad Shafiqul Islam. The meeting also appointed Ms. Sajeda Sabir as Program Coordinator and Special Assistant to the President.

Following his election, President Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu thanked all members for their trust and pledged to work together for a stronger CBFC that delivers tangible benefits to both nations. In line with its mission, CBFC will continue to deepen China–Bangladesh friendship and bilateral development through cultural exchanges, business linkages, seminars and delegations, language and professional training, ICT collaboration and joint publications, student scholarships and recognition awards, and constructive engagement with both embassies on matters of mutual interest.
