China-Bangladesh Relations an “Exemplary Model”: Premier Li Qiang’s Message of Congratulations

Chinese Premier Li Qiang today (Monday) sent a congratulatory message to Bangladesh’s newly elected Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman.

In his message, Li Qiang stated that China and Bangladesh are traditionally friendly neighbors and “partners in comprehensive strategic cooperation.” The two countries share a long history of cordial exchanges. Over the 51 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China and Bangladesh have consistently respected each other, treated one another as equals, and advanced mutually beneficial cooperation—achieving “win-win outcomes.” This, he noted, has set an exemplary model for interstate relations.

The Chinese government expresses its support for the new government of Bangladesh in its effective governance. Premier Li Qiang conveyed his willingness to work closely with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to preserve the traditional friendship between the two countries, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and deepen exchanges and collaboration across various fields.

The goal, he emphasized, is to elevate the China-Bangladesh “comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership” to a new level-bringing greater benefits to the peoples of both nations.
