China Media Group (CMG) has successfully completed the fifth rehearsal for the 2026 Spring Festival Gala. This year’s production brings together a vibrant array of creative performances, including comedy cross-talk, dance and music, acrobatics, opera, martial arts, skits, and magical acts—creating a joyful and festive atmosphere. Performances on the main stage and four sub-stages have been meticulously coordinated. The cultural extravaganza is now fully prepared to enhance the joy of New Year’s Eve family reunions and to celebrate the Lunar New Year with Chinese communities and international audiences around the world.
Each of the four sub-stages showcases its own unique charm, presenting a lively tapestry of New Year celebrations across China. The Harbin sub-stage in Heilongjiang offers a snowy, ice-themed setting to immerse viewers in the winter festival mood. The Yiwu sub-stage in Zhejiang blends Chinese and international music and dance. The Hefei sub-stage in Anhui features Huángméi opera and traditional Chinese painting. Meanwhile, the Yibin sub-stage in Sichuan highlights fiery passion and intangible cultural heritage traditions, symbolizing resilience and forward momentum.
As homes across the country fill with light and song, the arrival of the New Year is warmly welcomed. Audiences everywhere are invited to join the celebration and enjoy CMG’s Spring Festival Gala at 8:00 p.m. on 16 February.
