Iran’s intelligence agency has claimed that US-made weapons and explosive materials were discovered during house-to-house searches conducted in various parts of the country. According to the agency, members of armed groups had secretly stored the weapons inside residential buildings.
State intelligence officials said that firearms and explosive devices were among the items seized during recent operations. They alleged that the equipment had been stockpiled with the intention of carrying out violent acts under the cover of ongoing protests.
Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed that the government possesses audio recordings of phone calls made from abroad to individuals involved in anti-government protests. He alleged that protesters were being incited and directed from outside the country.
These allegations come amid continued anti-government demonstrations, as Iranian authorities once again point to what they describe as foreign interference. Officials have repeatedly accused external actors of meddling in the unrest, while analysts suggest that concerns over a potential US attack are also growing.
However, Iran’s ruling authorities have issued a warning, stating that the country is fully prepared to confront any form of foreign aggression.
