Saudi Military Chief Meets Pakistan’s Top Leadership, Calls for Deeper Strategic Partnership

Saudi Arabia’s Chief of General Staff, General Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, met with Pakistan’s top leadership on Monday, expressing Riyadh’s interest in elevating defense and strategic ties to new heights, according to Dawn.

During his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, General Al-Ruwaili conveyed the best wishes of the Saudi leadership. As reported by PTV News, he reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s desire to further expand existing defense cooperation with Pakistan.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the historic and brotherly relations between the two nations and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties across all sectors, including the economy, defense, and security.

Sharif reiterated Islamabad’s determination to deepen collaboration in counterterrorism, joint training, military exercises, and the exchange of expertise. He emphasized the shared stance of both countries against terrorism and extremism, along with their mutual commitment to regional peace and stability.

Earlier, General Al-Ruwaili met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. According to ISPR, the military leaders discussed ways to further enhance cooperation in defense, security, and counterterrorism.
