Bishkek, November 19 – China and Kyrgyzstan held their first strategic dialogue between foreign ministers, marking a significant step in deepening bilateral cooperation. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zinbek Kulubaev participated in the high-level meeting.
Wang Yi emphasized that mutual political trust is steadily strengthening and comprehensive cooperation is deepening. He said the dialogue mechanism is a concrete step to implement the consensus of the two heads of state, boosting strategic trust, coordination, and cooperation. China also pledged to support Kyrgyzstan’s role as the rotating president of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Kulubaev reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to the One-China Policy and pledged strong support for China on core issues, including Xinjiang, Sichuan, and Hong Kong. He noted Kyrgyzstan will strengthen cooperation with China on global initiatives, UN coordination, and the China-Central Asia framework.
After the meeting, both sides issued a joint statement and signed the China-Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry Cooperation Outline for 2026–2027. Analysts say the dialogue strengthens regional stability, strategic trust, and China-Central Asia ties.
