Occupied West Bank, November 13: Israeli settlers set fire to the Hajja Hamida Mosque in Dayr Istiya, northern West Bank, sparking global condemnation. Settlers reportedly spray-painted racist and anti-Palestinian slogans and burned several copies of the Quran.
The Palestinian Ministry of Religious Endowments called the attack a “heinous crime” and an example of Israeli barbarity against holy sites.
In a separate incident, two Palestinian children were killed during an Israeli raid in Beit Ummar near Hebron. This year has seen a surge in attacks by Israeli settlers, especially during the 2025 olive harvest, with over 150 Palestinians injured and tens of thousands of trees damaged.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the attack, calling violence against places of worship completely unacceptable. Jordan, Germany, and Switzerland also urged an end to settler violence and accountability for perpetrators.
