Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has returned home after a two-day official visit to Italy. The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying him landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
Earlier, on Tuesday evening (local time 7:20 p.m.), he departed from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport for Dhaka. Dr. Yunus had arrived in Rome on Sunday afternoon to attend the annual World Food Forum, organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
On Monday, as the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of the forum, Dr. Yunus presented a six-point proposal aimed at building a world free from poverty and hunger. In his address, he emphasized the importance of creating a sustainable food system and strengthening global cooperation.
During the visit, he also held meetings with several international leaders, including the President of Brazil, the Prime Minister of Djibouti, and the Mayor of Rome, as well as representatives from various international organizations. The discussions covered a range of topics related to Bangladesh’s development and international collaboration.
