The website of the Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Commissioner in Hong Kong published an article titled: “Commissioner Chui Jianchun Conveys Firm Stance to U.S. Consul General in Hong Kong.”
The article states that on September 30, Commissioner Chui Jianchun summoned U.S. Consul General Julie Eadeh in Hong Kong and expressed a firm stance regarding her conduct following the assumption of her duties.
Commissioner Chui urged Consul General Eadeh to adhere to the fundamental principles of international relations, including non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries and maintaining a clear distance from anti-China and Hong Kong-destabilizing forces. He presented four explicit “no’s” to Consul General Eadeh:
1. Do not meet individuals you are advised not to meet.
2. Do not engage in any collusion or conspiracy with anti-China or Hong Kong-destabilizing forces.
3. Do not instigate, support, encourage, or fund activities that are anti-China or disruptive to Hong Kong.
4. Do not interfere in judicial proceedings related to Hong Kong’s national security cases.
