Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said in Madrid on Monday that China remains committed to safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests, and will firmly protect the lawful rights of Chinese enterprises abroad.
From Sunday to Monday, He held talks with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer. Following the meeting, He stated that, building on the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, both sides engaged in open, in-depth, and constructive discussions on bilateral economic and trade matters.
He further noted that the two sides reached a fundamental structural consensus during the talks. This includes strengthening cooperation, reducing barriers to investment, and enhancing relevant economic and trade collaboration.
According to He, both parties will now work on the necessary documentation based on this consensus and complete their respective domestic approval procedures.
