80 Years of Victory: Armed Parade in Beijing

All preparations have been completed in Beijing for the military parade scheduled on September 3. The parade will commemorate the 80th anniversary of China’s People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the global struggle against fascism, a press briefing revealed today (Thursday).

The briefing stated that 26 foreign leaders will attend this year’s parade. In addition, representatives of China’s friends or their families from 14 countries, including Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Canada, have been invited to be present.

On the evening of September 3, a cultural event will also be held in Beijing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of victory in the People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the global anti-fascist struggle.

Wu Chek, Deputy Director of the Military Parade Group Office and Major General, Deputy Director of the Operations Bureau of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, told the press briefing that this year’s military parade is a key part of the commemorative activities marking the 80th anniversary of victory. The event will showcase a vast array of weapons and military equipment.
