AJHRF to Host International Award Ceremony and Victory Day Discussion in Dhaka on December 16, 2025

Hong Kong — August 27, 2025 — The Asian Journalist & Human Rights Foundation (AJHRF) has announced its plans for a high-profile Bangladesh Victory Day event in Dhaka, scheduled for December 16 at Hotel 71. The evening will feature a Victory Day Discussion Meeting, the AJHRF International Award 2025 Ceremony, and the unveiling of a commemorative souvenir. The organizers anticipate a distinguished gathering of guests from Bangladesh and abroad to celebrate achievements in journalism and human rights, and to discuss pressing regional and global issues.

A four-member jury board comprising Syed Didar Bakht, the former State Minister for Information and Culture; A. F. M. Solaiman Chowdhury, former Secretary of Public Administration; Professor Dr. Dilara Hafiz, former Chairperson of the Dhaka Education Board; and Barrister Salim Ullah will lead the awards proceedings. The program will be presided over by M. M. Iqbal Alamgir, President of the AJHRF International Bangladesh Chapter, with Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah (Retd.), Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, invited as the Chief Guest.

Convener Mehedi Ali, a former Director of the FBCCI and Secretary of the Event Celebration Committee, and Lion Mithu Dhar Chowdhury provide organizational leadership. The organizers emphasize that the event will bridge national pride with international perspectives, underscoring contributions to journalism, human rights, and related fields. Highlights include the Victory Day Discussion Meeting, the AJHRF International Award 2025 Ceremony, and the unveiling of a commemorative souvenir.
