Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister to Visit Dhaka on August 23

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on August 23 for a two-day official visit. During his stay, he will hold bilateral talks with Foreign Affairs Adviser Mohammad Touhid Hossain.

This will mark the first visit by a Pakistani foreign minister to Bangladesh since 2012. A senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the main objective of the visit is to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore new avenues for constructive dialogue between the two nations.

Further details regarding the visit will be shared in due course, the official added.

Notably, a similar visit by Ishaq Dar was initially planned for April this year, but it was postponed due to rising regional tensions between Pakistan and India. Officials familiar with the matter said the upcoming visit reflects a renewed diplomatic effort to sustain dialogue on issues of mutual interest between Dhaka and Islamabad.
