At the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, together with the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to ASEAN, held an Interface with The Honourable Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chair of ASEAN for 2025.

The Interface highlighted Malaysia’s steadfast leadership and strong commitment to ASEAN Community-building and regional cooperation, particularly during its 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship.

Secretary-General Dr. Kao congratulated Malaysia for the successful convening of the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits in May, under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar. He particularly noted the adoption of “ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future” as a landmark achievement, along with the series of key meetings including the recently concluded 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and its related events in early July.

These milestones underscore Malaysia’s instrumental role in advancing ASEAN’s shared vision of peace, resilience, and prosperity in the region.
