The 2025 SCO Civilizational Dialogue officially commenced on Wednesday, July 23, in Tianjin, China. The event is jointly organized by the State Council Information Office of China, the China International Communications Group, and the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

This year’s theme is “Promoting the Global Civilization Initiative, Building a Beautiful Shared Home for the SCO.” Over 300 delegates from SCO member states are participating in forums, exchanges, and discussions, as well as engaging in cultural experiences such as Chinese intangible heritage exhibitions and calligraphy displays. These activities aim to deepen mutual understanding and cultural exchange among SCO civilizations and contribute to building a closer community of shared prosperity.

On the same day, a report titled “Community of Shared Digital Civilization: China’s Initiatives and the SCO’s Future” was released. The report explores the practical foundation, core proposals, and implementation pathways for building a shared digital civilization. It highlights the development of digital civilization and modernization with Chinese characteristics and elaborates on the value, foundation, and direction for joint digital community-building between China and SCO countries under the new form of human civilization.
