Three killed as two planes collide in Sydney skies

Three people lost their lives when two planes collided in the skies over Sydney, Australia. Al Arabiya reported that the fatal accident occurred on Saturday in the wilds of Bassland, about 55 kilometers southwest of Sydney.

Immediately after the incident, police, fire service and ambulance personnel reached the wreckage of the crashed planes and started searching. One aircraft quickly burst into flames after the collision.

Acting Inspector Timothy Coleman of the New South Wales Police said there were two passengers in a small Cessna 182 model aircraft. It collided with another plane. There was one passenger on the second plane. However, details about their identities were not immediately available.

Coleman added that after the collision, the wreckage of the plane was spread over an area of ​​about one kilometer and unfortunately there were no survivors in the accident. His statement was published in the Australian media ABC News.

Witnesses said they saw the wreckage falling from the sky and rushed to the crash site to help. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has ordered an investigation into the accident.
