CC Unveils 2027 Women’s U19 T20 World Cup Fixtures: Hosts Bangladesh to Open Campaign Against UAE in Sylhet

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday officially announced the full schedule for the third edition of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by Bangladesh and Nepal in early 2027.

The 16-day, 16-nation global tournament features 41 matches across four venues in three host cities. Each participating team will play three fixtures during the opening group stage.

Host nation Bangladesh will launch the tournament on January 21, 2027, taking on the United Arab Emirates at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh will host the bulk of the fixtures, with the port city of Chattogram staging 14 matches and Sylhet hosting 12. Co-host Nepal will stage 15 fixtures across the Kathmandu Valley—eight at Mulpani and seven in Kirtipur. Doubleheaders are scheduled on matchdays at 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM local time.

The 16 teams have been drawn into four groups:

Group A: Defending champions India, hosts Nepal, West Indies, Ireland

Group B: New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, Samoa

Group C: Co-hosts Bangladesh, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria

Group D: England, Sri Lanka, United States, Scotland

Following their opener against the UAE on January 21, Bangladesh will face Australia on January 23 and Nigeria on January 25, with all Group C fixtures held in Sylhet.

The top three teams from each pool advance to the Super Six stage, while fourth-placed finishers will contest classification play-offs. Group A and D qualifiers will merge into one Super Six pool, while Group B and C sides form the other, carrying forward points earned against fellow qualifiers from their initial group.

Following the conclusion of the group stage on January 26 and the subsequent Super Six rounds, Chattogram will host both semifinals on February 4 (reserve day: February 5). The tournament concludes with the grand final on February 6 at 1:30 PM in Chattogram, with February 7 designated as the official reserve day.

ICC Head of Events Sanjog Gupta remarked that the tournament serves as a premier pathway for emerging female cricketers, reinforcing the long-term competitive foundation and global expansion of the women’s game.
