New York, September 29: China will work together with all countries around the world to enrich the common future of humanity, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng said in a speech during the general debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday.
He said the world is currently facing geopolitical conflicts, development disparities and growing global challenges. Under these circumstances, the international community needs to work together to strengthen peace, development and cooperation.
Han Zheng put forward four proposals in this regard. First, he called for safeguarding the post-war international order and establishing lasting peace based on common security. Second, he called for addressing the global development crisis through openness and cooperation and ensuring prosperity for all. Third, he called for strengthening exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations to rebuild unity and mutual trust. Finally, he called for reinforcing commitment to multilateralism to ensure fairness and justice in international affairs.
He also said that China will always uphold peaceful development, fairness and multilateralism. Beijing will also work to make the United Nations more effective in addressing global challenges, including climate change and public health security.
