23 September :At least 11 people have been killed and three others seriously injured after gunmen opened fire at a residential home in South Africa’s eastern KwaZulu-Natal province. One of the victims was a pregnant woman.
Anadolu Agency reported the incident on Wednesday, 23 September. South African television news channel eNCA said the attack took place in the KwaMadhutha township, south of Durban.
Shortly before 11pm local time on Tuesday, a group of unidentified armed men entered a house and opened indiscriminate fire on the people inside. Ten people were killed at the scene, while another died on the way to hospital.
Before fleeing, the attackers set fire to a vehicle belonging to the homeowner and then quickly left the area.
The motive behind the attack and the circumstances surrounding it were not immediately known. Police have so far made no arrests, and no suspects have been identified.
