China-Russia intellectual and cultural cooperation gains a new dimension

The Russian edition of the first volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China was unveiled in St. Petersburg, Russia, in a move presented by participants as a new step in China–Russia intellectual and cultural engagement.

The launch ceremony, held on Wednesday, brought together more than 100 representatives from China, Russia and other countries, including media executives, prominent scholars and senior government officials.

During the event, Fu Hua, president of China’s state news agency Xinhua, Andrey Kondrashov, director general of Russia’s TASS news agency, and Luo Zhanhui, China’s consul general in St. Petersburg, jointly unveiled the newly released edition.

Speakers at the ceremony described the book as a significant documentary and analytical work that presents a comprehensive account of China’s governance path and development achievements in the new era. Through case studies, an objective narrative and systematic explanations, they said, the volume chronicles the country’s efforts to navigate challenges and sustain development.

Participants also expressed hope that the Russian edition would serve as an authoritative and accessible source of information for readers across Russia. According to speakers, the publication is expected to help readers better understand how China achieved its rapid development and how its governance system has functioned in practice, while also strengthening cultural and diplomatic exchanges between China and Russia.
