Russia Offers Support in Efforts to Ease Iran–US Tensions

Russia has expressed readiness to assist in possible talks aimed at easing ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran. However, Moscow has made it clear that it does not seek to impose any mediating role on the parties involved.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told the state news agency TASS in an interview that Russia is prepared to provide necessary assistance toward resolving the crisis. At the same time, he emphasized that Moscow has no intention of applying pressure or taking a unilateral role in the process.

He noted that the relevant parties are aware of Russia’s position, and any support would be extended only upon an official request.

Ryabkov further stated that Russia’s long-standing position is that all international crises should be resolved through political and diplomatic dialogue, a principle it continues to uphold.

He welcomed the possibility of renewed dialogue between the United States and Iran. He also highlighted Pakistan’s role in maintaining regional stability in a positive light.

Analysts suggest that amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, Russia appears to be positioning itself as a balanced potential mediator.
