Trump Reaffirms Hardline Stance on Iran Deal, Says ‘U.S. Interests Come First’

Amid ongoing tensions surrounding Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated a firm position on any potential agreement with Tehran, making clear that no deal will be reached unless it aligns with Washington’s strategic interests. According to a report by Al Jazeera, Trump dismissed suggestions that he is under pressure to quickly end the standoff. Instead, he indicated that time constraints weigh more heavily on Iran than on the United States. Highlighting the outcome of recent U.S. military actions, Trump claimed that Iran’s defense and military capabilities have been significantly weakened.

He also pointed to substantial damage to the country’s military leadership and infrastructure. On sanctions, Trump stressed that economic pressure on Iran has intensified and become more effective, warning that the situation could grow increasingly difficult for Tehran in the coming period. He further emphasized that any future agreement must not only serve U.S. interests but also benefit its allies and contribute positively to global stability. Until such conditions are met, Washington is unlikely to move forward with any deal with Iran.
