Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory message to To Lam on his election as President of Vietnam, highlighting the strategic importance of bilateral ties for regional stability.
Xi, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, noted that China and Vietnam form a community with a shared future of strategic significance. In his message, he said that in recent years, under the joint guidance and initiatives of the leaders of both parties and countries, China–Vietnam relations have achieved remarkable progress, with comprehensive strategic cooperation delivering tangible benefits to the peoples of both nations.
He added that since the beginning of this year, the two sides have maintained high-level strategic communication and continued to advance mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors.
Emphasizing the rapidly evolving global landscape, Xi stressed that strengthening solidarity and cooperation between China and Vietnam is in the fundamental interests of both parties and countries. He reaffirmed his strong commitment to the development of bilateral relations and expressed his willingness to work closely with President To Lam to advance modernization and national rejuvenation.
Xi further underscored the importance of jointly building a China–Vietnam community with a shared future, strengthening their respective socialist systems, enhancing the well-being of their peoples, and contributing to regional and global stability as well as positive international momentum.
