Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Iran has identified China as a key player in safeguarding regional peace and security, while also প্রকাশing clear distrust toward the United States.
Speaking at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday, Iranian Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said the current crisis cannot be resolved without coordinated international efforts. He called on the United Nations Security Council, along with major powers such as China and Russia, and regional mediators including Pakistan and Türkiye, to play an active and constructive role.
The ambassador emphasized that Tehran views Beijing as a capable and influential force in maintaining regional stability, noting that close communication and cooperation between Iran and China remain ongoing.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a two-week suspension of military strikes on Iran, describing it as an effort to create space for dialogue. However, Tehran remains cautious and continues to view the move with skepticism.
Ambassador Fazli warned that if the United States violates the pause or engages in any form of bad faith during this period, Iran is prepared to respond decisively, and the consequences would be serious.
Addressing questions on the possible imposition of transit fees on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, he said the matter is still under preliminary consideration and no final decision has been made.
Analysts believe Iran’s growing reliance on China in the peace process signals a potential shift in the regional balance of power, posing a challenge to longstanding U.S. influence and hinting at emerging geopolitical realignments.
