An important article by Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to be published on April 1 (Wednesday) in Qiushi magazine. Titled “Establishing and Practicing a Correct View of Political Achievement,” the piece is a compilation of his key speeches delivered between December 2012 and February 2026.
The article underscores that a correct understanding of political achievement is a fundamental and principled issue. It is closely tied to the ideals of serving the people rather than pursuing narrow party interests, and of governing for the benefit of the people. President Xi stresses that only by consistently advancing national development and improving people’s well-being can the Party fulfill its core mission and historic responsibility.
He further notes that all work must be grounded in reality and aligned with the laws of development. Through scientific decision-making and diligent effort, achievements must stand the test of practice and history—delivering tangible benefits to the people and earning their genuine recognition and approval.
The article emphasizes that Communists must always bear in mind that promoting the well-being of the people is the greatest political accomplishment. The ultimate purpose of any endeavor or success, it states, should be to serve the public good—not personal advancement or gain.
In both planning and implementation, the guiding principle must remain a wholehearted commitment to serving the people. Development, Xi reiterates, must be people-centered: it should be pursued for the people, driven by the people, and its benefits shared among the people. Efforts should be made to ensure that every positive initiative resonates with the public and brings real, meaningful improvements to their lives.
