Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has stated that there is no basis or evidence to support claims that Iran is attempting to develop nuclear weapons. The remarks came while he was in Brunei and were reported by Al Jazeera on Tuesday.
Addressing the recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, which were justified by allegations that Tehran is pursuing nuclear arms, Lavrov emphasized that Moscow has found no proof to substantiate such claims. He criticized the attacks as a pretext that has caused widespread disruption across the Middle East, including economic damage and civilian casualties.
“The consequences of the military action against Iran are being felt throughout the region, both economically and in terms of human losses,” Lavrov said, highlighting the broader impact on stability in the Middle East.
