On 24 November, 2024, the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh held “The 2024 Reunion for Bangladeshi persons in China”. H.E. Ambassador Yao Wen attended the event and delivered keynote speech. H.E. Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin, Honorable Foreign Secretary attended as Chief Guest and delivered speech.

At his speech, Ambassador Yao emphasized that year 2024 is of historic significance for China-Bangladesh relations. The bilateral relationship was elevated to a new height of comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The solid relations between the two sides rely on the mutual understanding between the people and close people-to-people ties. Ambassador Yao highly rated the Bangladeshi person who went to China in 2024, and pointed out that next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic ties and the “Year of People to People and Cultural Exchanges” between China and Bangladesh. China is ready to join hands with our Bangladeshi friends to move towards the same direction, cross all the mountains and rivers, and sail the ship of China-Bangladesh friendship to an even better future.

Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin expressed that Bangladesh will adhere to its friendship with China and is willing to strengthen personnel exchanges at all levels with China, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, promote the continuous development of Bangladesh-China relations, and better benefit the two peoples.

In the event, Ambassador Yao and Foreign Secretary Uddin presented awards to 10 outstanding representatives.
