The 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) kicked off in Xiamen on September 8 under the theme “Join Hands with China for a Shared Future.” Covering an exhibition area of 120,000 square meters, the fair will host over 100 investment promotion events. The aim is to establish CIFIT as a landmark “Invest in China” expo and a vital service platform for two-way investment promotion.
Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to mark the occasion. He emphasized that, with its consistent theme of “expanding two-way investment and promoting global development,” CIFIT has played a positive role in fostering an open world economy. The fair has also become an effective platform for global investors to deepen practical cooperation.
Xi underlined that as a major contributor to global economic growth and a stabilizing force, China will remain committed to advancing high-level opening-up, promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and sharing its development opportunities with the world. He noted that China is ready to work with all parties to encourage inclusive economic globalization and jointly create a bright future of prosperity and development.
This year’s CIFIT brings together representatives from more than 120 countries and regions, including 11 international organizations, with 51 countries and regions setting up exhibition booths. For the first time, China’s Ministry of Commerce will collaborate with various chambers of commerce to release indicators on outbound investment activities.
In addition, several multilateral and bilateral investment promotion events will be held, focusing on Belt and Road international investment cooperation, China-U.S. provincial and state-level economic and trade partnerships, and China-Azerbaijan two-way investment promotion. These activities aim to provide a significant platform for mutually beneficial cooperation.
